Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg i blant rhwng 3 ac 11 oed yw Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch yng Nghaerdydd, prif ddinas Cymru. Mae uned feithrin i blant 3 /4 oed yn rhan o'r ysgol.

Sefydlwyd Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch ym 1996. Ym Medi 1999 symudwyd i adeilad newydd a gorffennwyd estyniad i’r ysgol yn 2006 ar gyfer yr ysgol uchaf. Cyrhaeddodd ei llawn dwf yn ddwy ffrwd yn 2008 ac erbyn hyn mae tair ffrwd mewn rhai grwpiau blwyddyn. Mae dalgylch yr ysgol yn eang ac yn amrywiol ac yn cynnwys ardaloedd deheuol a gorllewinol dinas Caerdydd, yn enwedig ardaloedd Lecwydd, Glan yr Afon a rhannau o Dreganna a Phontcanna.

Mae dros 500 o ddisgyblion yn yr ysgol, gan gynnwys 64 o blant yn y dosbarth meithrin. Mae 18 o ddosbarthiadau un oed.

Daw’r disgyblion o ardaloedd cymysg, rhai ardaloedd o fantais economaidd, eraill yn ardaloedd dan anfantais a’r gweddill yn ardaloedd heb fantais nac anfantais arbennig.

Mae tua 20% o ddisgyblion yn dod o gartrefi Cymraeg lle mae o leiaf un o’r rhieni yn siarad Cymraeg, tua 5% o gartrefi lle mae'r ddau riant yn siarad Cymraeg a daw tua 80% o’r disgyblion yn dod o gartrefi di-Gymraeg. Hefyd mae 23% yn dod o gefndir lleiafrifol ethnig. Ar hyn o bryd mae tua 12% o’r disgyblion yn cael prydau bwyd am ddim; mae’r ffigwr o dan y cyfartaleddau cenedlaethol a lleol. Mae 17.5% ar y gofrestr anghenion dysgu ychwanegol (ADY), ac mae’r ffigwr hwn o dan y cyfartaleddau cenedlaethol a lleol.

Rydym yn ffodus i gael adeilad modern a phwrpasol - yr adeilad newydd sbon cyntaf ar gyfer ysgol Gymraeg yn y Brifddinas. Rydym yn anelu at ragoriaeth gyda'n gilydd.

Arolygwyd yr ysgol ddiwethaf gan Estyn ym mis Chwefror 2018.

Penodwyd y Pennaeth presennol ym mis Medi 2016.

Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch is a Welsh medium primary school for pupils aged 3 - 11 years old located in Cardiff, Wales’ capital city.  The school has a nursery unit for pupils aged 3/4 attached to it.

Ysgol Gymraeg Pwll Coch was established in 1996. In September 1999 the school moved to a new building and an extension was completed in 2006 for the upper school.

The school reached its capacity of two streams in 2008 and now has three streams in some year groups.

The school’s catchment area is wide and varied and includes the southern and western parts of the city of Cardiff, especially the areas of Leckwith, Glan yr Afon and parts of Canton and Pontcanna.

Currently, there are over 500 pupils in the school, including 64 children in the nursery class. There are 18 single age classes. Pupils come from mixed areas, some are economically advantaged, others economically disadvantaged with the remainder neither particularly advantaged nor disadvantaged.

Approximately 20% of pupils come from Welsh-speaking homes where at least one parent speaks Welsh, around 5% from homes where both parents speak Welsh and approximately 80% come from non-Welsh-speaking homes. Also 23% come from a minority ethnic background. Currently around 12% of the pupils receive free school meals; this figure is below national and local averages. At this time, 17.5% of pupils are on the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) register, and this figure is below national and local averages.

Pwll Coch is extremely proud to be the first purpose built building for Welsh medium education within the Welsh capital. Together we are aiming for excellence.

The school was last inspected by Estyn in February 2018.

The current head teacher was appointed in September 2016.
